Animal advocacy research library with Faunalytics

Animal advocacy runs on assumptions about what changes people's minds, and many of those assumptions are wrong. A leaflet that feels persuasive may do nothing; a message that seems too mild may outperform it. Without data, an entire movement can spend years on tactics that do not work.

Studies are chosen for how many animals the answer could affect, which is why most of the work concentrates on farmed animals and on the advocacy aimed at reducing consumption of animal products. Findings are published for advocates to use rather than for academic credit, and are designed to be actionable: what to say, to whom, and what to expect.

The research library is the largest public collection of opinion and behaviour research on animal protection, holding summaries of thousands of peer-reviewed articles and public opinion surveys alongside infographics and other resources, across nearly every advocacy issue. A separate advice service gives advocates one-to-one help with research design and strategy, which is what turns a library into something a small organization can actually use.

The organization is Faunalytics, whose resources reach hundreds of thousands of advocates a year.
