SoonKhen goes by SK and joined Rethink Charity in 2022 as Operations Engineer, improving processes and systems across the organization. He brings over 7 years of experience in fintech startups as a software developer and team leader, and is passionate about helping teams in the effective altruism community maximize their positive impact.

Nathan Smith (he/him)

Head of Operations

Nathan joined Rethink Charity in July 2024 and now operates full time as Head of Operations. He brings extensive experience in grant-making and grant-writing for philanthropic organizations of various sizes, and completed an MBA at the University of the People.

Shanil Wijesinghe (he/him)

Senior Growth and Communications Specialist

Shanil joined Rethink Charity in 2026 to expand the organization's reach among donors looking to support vetted, high-impact projects. Bringing over eight years of experience in game design alongside a background in effective animal advocacy, he develops new approaches to engage and inspire altruistic Canadians.

Baxter Bullock (he/him)

Senior Advisor for Strategy & Communications

A co-founder of Rethink Charity, Baxter helped lead the organization from its launch in 2017 until 2022, when he transitioned to the Board of Directors. In 2026, he returned as Senior Advisor for Strategy & Communications, dividing his time between Rethink Charity and other professional and creative ventures.
